19th CENTURY MEAT HOUSE DEDICATION

Restored Meat House ribbon cutting! This meat house was originally built on Lot 14 in Port Royal on property owned by George Fitzhugh from 1830-1876. When Rt. 301 was widened it was moved to Lot 14 next to the Peyton-Brockenbrough House on King St. After years of neglect it was donated to HPR and moved to a cozy spot between the American History Museum and Old Port Royal School, on U.S. Rte. 301, where it has been restored.

This restoration project was made possible by donations to Historic Port Royal, Inc., our members and volunteers. We greatly thank you for your contributions and consideration!
